Design & Fabrication Highlights

Facade Signage

  • Stainless steel 50mm box-up construction for both logo and letters.
  • Branded using Pantone 1788C and Pantone Process Black C, matching Bhavna’s identity.
  • Back-lit and side-lit logo delivers a clean halo effect at night.

  • LEDs upgraded to 5000K daylight tone, matching industrial lighting environments.

Gate Signage

  • Full-colour Bhavna logo applied using exterior-grade paint.
  • Company name and address applied using 3D flat-cut non-illuminated letters for a clean, modern look.
  • Designed for easy wayfinding and clear roadside visibility.

Installation Process & Safety Compliance

The facade signage was installed at height on a corrugated trimdeck wall. A telescopic boom lift was used for safe high-access work, with precise alignment carried out using tape measurements and laser markers. The team employed Grade 8.8 galvanized bolts with 50mm embedment, reinforced backing plates, and high-bond silicone to ensure long-term stability.

All works followed Work-at-Height (WAH) and BizSafe safety protocols. Despite multiple rain delays, the Apex Signages team coordinated installation windows carefully to protect LED components and ensure a safe, efficient installation.

Lighting & Visual Impact

At night, the halo-lit logo and front-lit letters provide strong visibility from long distances along Tuas South Ave 1. The 5000K LEDs deliver a clean daylight-style tone, enhancing recognition without overpowering the building’s architecture. Daytime photos highlight the deep matte black finishes and the large-scale presence of the BHAVNA letters across the industrial facade.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge Solution
Frequent rain affecting installation schedule Work was rescheduled into safe dry windows, and LED components were protected before final connection and testing.
Corrugated trimdeck wall mounting Reinforced backing plates and silicone were used to achieve stable, even fastening across the corrugations.
Large-format letter alignment Multi-person handling with boom lift access ensured accurate spacing, level and line continuity.
Gate signage redesign due to site conditions The design was adjusted to a painted logo with 3D letters, improving visibility and wall compatibility.

Results & Client Feedback

The completed signage system dramatically enhances Bhavna’s branding. The illuminated facade signage provides 24/7 visibility, while the gate signage improves wayfinding and the professional appearance of the entrance.

FAQ: 3D Building Signage in Singapore

What is the advantage of combining front-lit and back-lit signage?

Combining front-lit letters with a back-lit or halo-lit logo maximises visibility and branding impact. The letters remain bright and readable, while the halo around the logo draws attention and adds depth to the facade.

Can illuminated signage be installed on corrugated metal walls?

Yes. With the correct anchoring system, backing plates, and sealants, 3D stainless steel signage can be installed securely on trimdeck or corrugated metal facades, as demonstrated in this Bhavna project.

Why is 5000K LED recommended for industrial signage in Singapore?

5000K LEDs provide a neutral daylight tone, improving legibility and colour accuracy. This colour temperature works well for industrial environments and complements typical exterior lighting.

What materials are best for outdoor building signage?

Powder-coated stainless steel combined with acrylic faces is a popular choice in Singapore. These materials are corrosion-resistant, durable in high humidity, and maintain their appearance over time.
